Welcome to Schloss Janson! We are the Janson family - a team of five passionate hosts, wine lovers and nature enthusiasts. Together we run our traditional winery with passion and look forward to opening our home for your wedding.
Our children grow up between vineyards and festival preparations - this is exactly what makes our winery so special: It is not just a wedding location, but a place full of life, history and warmth. When we see bridal couples saying „I do“ here, toasting happily with their guests and enjoying the special atmosphere, then we know that we are doing exactly the right thing.
For six generations our family runs the castle estate with 25 hectares of vineyards at the northern beginning of the German Wine Route in the Palatinate. Since 1831 the Jansons live on the sandstone-walled property of the former castle of Count Emich XI of Leiningen, who once transformed it into a small castle. The ravages of time have left little of the castle - but what remains is the passion for wine and nature, the determination to grow and to keep creating something unique.
Weingut Schloss Janson - for over 15 years now Kurt and Sarah, who met in 2001 during a summer internship on Long Island, New York - Sarah's home. They are our three children - closely linked to the family winery. These are also Kurt Sr. and Annesuse, who have laid the foundations for the winery's current success through their decades of commitment.
